Labor negotiations broke down between workers and Caesars Windsor, resulting in the casino temporarily closing its doors late Thursday while 2,300 workers hit the picket line. The employees opted to strike after rejecting a tentative three-year pact that contained pay raises, pension improvements and signing bonuses, “I think there’s a lot they liked in the collective agreement,” Local 444 president James Stewart told the paper after the votes were counted around 11 p.m. “But ultimately there is a lot of anger, disrespect they feel they’ve got from the employer over a period of time. At the outset they were clear that the expectations were high.” The closure could be a possible plus for the three Detroit casinos. Two floors of gambling with lots of slot choices. Won some, lost some, as usual. If you win a lot, take it to a local bank for exchange (lots of paperwork though). The casino exchange is fine to get Canadian but horrible to get any winnings in US dollars. Windsor tunnel money exchange office in the duty free store is no longer open. Our room was very nice.
Legends restaurant is great for a sports bar. The resturant in the hotel lobby, Taza, is no longer part of Casears but you can charge food to your room. You can't use or get points any longer and the food went downhill. Don't use your Total Rewards Visa anywhere out of US as they charge as currency conversion fee.
How Ridiculous! I complained to Harrah's Total Rewards and never even got a reply. Use Capital One - no fees.
